German geophysics students have organised a common collaboration and they actively take part in a variety of projects. In order to fulfil these tasks the students' representation is divided into the following parts:
Chair Theresa Schaller
National affairs Lars Urbanek & Theresa Schaller
International affairs Johannes Göttisheim & Ole Sumfleth
Ressort Internet Stefanie Hempel & Philipp Grötsch
A larger workgroup develops various projects. Every student willing to contribute is invited to take part, support with own ideas or solve upcoming problems. Just contact Theresa Schaller.
Furthermore, we have a mailing list that already reaches 415 people from 15 different countries around the world. Various information is spread here, for example job offers and everyone is able to contribute geophysics-related material or information. If you are interested, please click here: mailing list .
Over the years, various project have been realized and new ones are still under construction. This, of course,
needs the initiative and ideas of students.
We are supported by the German Geophysical Society (DGG). Especially concerning "job entry" we are looking
forward to a stronger collaboration with companies.
Geophysical activity programme (GAP)
Next year, the 25th GAP will take place in Freiberg. All students from Germany as well as foreign countries
are invited to take part in various workshops, discussions, trips and - nevertheless - parties!
School contacts
Three stand-alone projects belong to this section. It allows us to spread at least some of our knowledge and
experience.

rent-a-student Material for a presentation at school about studies in geophysics are available at our website. The scriptum and the presentation itself can be downloaded and thus allow a rather short time of preparation. We get financial help for this project from the German Geophysical Society (DGG e.V.). |
Poster and flyer An information poster about geophysics (in german) and also a flyer have been created. |
"System Earth" This revolutionary project for a school subject in geosciences, in which we support the teaching of geophysics. |
Public relations
Our chair, Theresa Schaller, will publish news in papers of DGG.
Further options are papers, presentations and workshops.
Networking
It is our aim to establish a constant flow of information between all geophysical institutes. It will be
a long-time project in which we are in need of support from members of the various institutes!
